"Here is the character wa “harmony”, brushed by the famous sculptor Hirakushi Denchu (1872-1979).

The first plate was done when he was ninety-three, the second at the age of 106, and the third plate at the age of 107,

the year of his death. Although the first version of wa is powerful, the line of the last version radiate vitality,

revealing greater clarity and depth. This display of energy is testimony to a lifetime of study".
